IIIC Launches FMP Program in Collaboration with IFMA

The formal inauguration of the online classes of IIIC for the Facility Management Program (FMP) conducted by IFMA (International Facility Management Association) as part of the Post Graduate Diploma in Facilities & Contract Management was conducted on 18th May 2020 as a webinar. Dignitaries from the Facility management industry was part of this event, as this was the first such offering from IFMA in Kerala. The inaugural address was given by Dr T P Sethumadhavan, in his address, he rightly pointed out the growth of online education and the initiatives by the government in this regard. He also pointed out the need for specialized skilling programs to bridge the gap between available skills and in-demand skills. As the presidential address, Dr Shreekumar Menon, Director of IIIC, expressed his pleasure in welcoming all to the event and offered his support to the effective delivery of the course in IIIC Shri. Mahender Singh, President of IFMA gave the keynote address, where he spoke about the growing need of skilled professionals in managing the various facilities around the world with importance to the standards and regulations as needed. He wished the students success in their endeavours and studies. Shri. VV Babji, Director of JLL-India, one of the largest real estate consultant company in the world, spoke about his experiences and the dearth of talent in this arena. He even offered placement opportunities to the right candidates on successful completion of this course. Shri. Shajee Joseph, Principal of Goldratt consulting, accentuated the listeners to remember three things for a successful career, which are to be a sponge, to be a sport and be a sparkle Shri. Keith Monterio, Senior Vice-President of Reliance Industries Limited, shared his understandings and knowledge while setting up the Jio network in India as well the Reliance corporate park, he emphasized the need for facility managers to look into the minor details of the job and take all aspects of it seriously. Shri. Rajesh Vaidya, Sr. Director at CBRE, a Multi-National Company, and a leader in the real estate sector talked about his growth in the facility management sector and said that there is no need to look back into the choices made as Facility Management has helped him grow his career to become part of an MNC like CBRE. The other speakers included Shri. HarikrishnanMohankumar who serves as the Director of REFM & Operations at UST Global, Shri. Wilson Chitla who is a Senior Real Estate and Facilities Professional. Shri. Raghavan K, Director UL Education-Administration, Dr B Sunil Kumar, MrBasavaraju NL also addressed the webinar attendees, wishing success in the events ahead in regard with the FMP Course.
