Advanced Survey Lab at IIIC, under the Civil Department is equipped with both conventional and most modern instruments used for land surveying. Trainees in IIIC will get hands-on training in Auto Level, Total Station and DGPS. The data collected by trainees are post-processed using softwares such as E survey CAD, Auto CAD and SURFER.
Scaffolding and formwork activity is the most regular and a complex one that exists in almost all construction projects. This lab provides performance training with technologically advanced methods. The trainees are provided theoretical knowledge and hands on training for skill enhancement in collaboration with technologically advanced industrial experts like RMD, PERI, MEVA etc. To meet the increasing demands of skilled personnel in the construction industry in India and abroad, IIIC is the best choice.
The masonry and flooring lab at IIIC provides an introduction to the various tools used for masonry and flooring works. Masonry lab provides awareness on different types of masonry works such as brick masonry, concrete block masonry etc. Hands on training in masonry includes material study with brands, construction practices, work methodology, types of masonry, environmental aspects, functional needs, rate analysis, techniques, safety precautions. The flooring lab provides awareness on different types of flooring works such as IPS/Tremix flooring works, Tile works etc. Hands-on training in flooring includes material study with brands, construction practices, work methodology, types of floors according to their uses, environmental aspects, functional needs and required level of finish.
At IIIC, we have two full-fledged state-of-the-art studios on the 2nd and 3rd floor of the Academic building, respectively for Interior Design & Construction and Urban Planning Design & Management courses. Keeping in mind that the students of these subjects use various concepts to come up with creative design, we have designed the studios accordingly by making it conducive to their communicative abilities as well as their problem-solving skills. At IIIC, we are focusing on Project Based Learning where students are given a problem for them to inculcate them on how to solve it using established principles and carrying out research in order to arrive at a satisfactory solution in a studio environment.
At IIIC, we have a state-of-the-art Plumbing Engineering lab under the Department of Mechanical Engineering for providing skill training on latest plumbing technologies and operations to students to enhance their practical knowledge and employment opportunities. The Lab involves latest pipe joining machineries, demo labs etc. We have an ultra – modern plumbing lab set up by M/s. Jaguar Bathroom Fitting Repair Services, with latest sanitary equipments, on the ground floor of the Academic Block and the same keeps updated from time to time to provide best hands-on-training training to IIIC students.
The Painting Lab at IIIC provides hands-on-training on automotive spray painting, powder coating, construction painting, etc. The Lab involves latest painting equipments like powder coating machine, sanding machine, spray painting guns, etc. We have well-experienced Instructors / Demonstrators to take IIIC students to the next level in painting technology.
Mechatronics Laboratory at IIIC, under the Department of Mechanical Engineering is one of the important labs that serves skill training to Mechanical Engineering Graduates. The lab caters to the need of providing multi-domain knowledge and system level integration which is expected to be the key role for a Mechatronics Engineer. The lab is equipped with sophisticated equipment and other facilities that include various sensor modules for temperature, pressure & load measurements, PLC trainer, Microcontroller & Microprocessor training kits, Pneumatic trainer kit, etc.
Main purpose of this lab is to familiarize programming techniques in CNC part programming through the high end industry software such as POWERMILL CAM Software Packages and to provide hands-on training on CNC machines. Students will get familiarised about part programming for various CNC Lathe & CNC Mill operations & simulation of Tool Path for different operations, machining of small components using CNC Lathe & CNC Milling Machine. The students can accrue knowledge of key manufacturing technologies and their underlying principles applied in current manufacturing industry, and will be comfortable with using commercial CAM systems to solve real-world problems. Also, students are expected to develop the ability to work in industrial environment to design programmes for various models and various (multi-axis) CNC machine tools.
The Welding Lab at IIIC is second to none. With the ultra-modern equipments available at the Lab, the IIIC students are able to sharpen the practical skills required for Welding process applicable in Construction Industry. For providing practical knowledge in Welding technics, we create laboratory models, using necessary welding equipment and tools. Welding lab involves Arc / TIG / MIG Welding machines and Gas Cutting equipments.
The fullfledged STP-WTP Plant at IIIC helps the students of STP-WTP Operator course in acquiring the much needed skills in this field. It’s an Environment-friendly treatment plant hence the water used is reused for gardening. The Filtration used in treatment plant is sand & activated Carbon filter bed. The most modern technology of Ultra Filtration is also used in our plant. The method of operation used at our plant is the Activated Sludge Process (ASP) I.e; a sewage treatment process in which air or oxygen is blown into raw, unsettled sewage to smash the solids and develop a biological ‘soup’ which digests the organic content and pollutants in the sewage.
Keeping in mind the adage “First Impression Lasts”, the Front Office Lab of students of Advanced Diploma in Hospitality Management at IIIC is equipped with a reception desk, bell desk, lobby manager desk and a spacious lobby with adequate lighting facilities. The students here are trained on how to do reservation, welcoming & receiving the guest and handling check out of guest. Our front office lab also focuses on acquiring specific techniques; known as the tools of trade such as development of soft skills, handling and etiquette of telephones and solving of a variety of guest issues.
Keeping in mind that the effort that a housekeeping department makes in giving the guest a desirable room has direct bearing on the guest’s experience in a hotel, our ADHM students are trained through ‘Eye for detail’ process for setting up guest rooms based on hotel standards. The students here are imparted with training on interior decoration skill, bed making, flower arrangement, tower art and practical classes on cleaning as part of lab operations. At IIIC, we have a housekeeping lab consisting of suite room for acquiring hands-on-experience, king-size bedroom, additional vanity counter in bathroom and various other modern facilities to develop professional international hotel housekeeping skills.
At IIIC, we have a full-fledged Food Production Lab, comprising of state-of the-art kitchen facilitating with 10 stations – each comprising of 4 stoves, banquet kitchen, soup section, pantry section and vegetable section for updating our ADHM students with latest trends in the Hotel Industry. With such a superb kitchen facility, the students at IIIC are able to acquire culinary skills. They are also able to learn about international cuisines under well-experienced Faculties here.
At IIIC, we have a 24-cover Restaurant and a Bar that helps our ADHM students in acquiring skills in basics of Food and Beverage Services. We have given special care in setting up our F & B Service Lab keeping in mind the F & B represents a huge sector of services and it contributes a great deal to the profits within the Hospitality Industry as a whole. The ADHM students are inculcated to perform a wide range of tasks post & prior to guest’s entry and exit such as preparation for service, greeting the guests, taking their orders, settling the bills, etc.
The Electrical Lab at IIIC is designed in such a way so that the concepts the students have learned could be reinforced and simultaneously acquiring the skills and the confidence to carry out experiments on their own. The experiments cover three major fields such as electrical installation, repair, and maintenance of temporary and permanent LV electrical connections at residential and commercial building construction sites. IIIC electrical lab is equipped with all kinds of latest tools and measuring instruments and enough booths for practising the experiments. The outdoor working yard at IIIC helps the students in experiencing the ambience of a construction site.
