Hundred Scheduled Caste Trainees Received Skill Training Certificates at IIIC Chavara

One hundred trainees belonging to the Scheduled Caste category were awarded certificates after successfully completing employment-oriented skill training at the Indian Institute of Infrastructure and Construction (IIIC), Chavara, under the State Government’s Labour Department.

The trainees were trained in various trades including Construction Laboratory & Field Technician, Assistant Electrician, Plumber General , and Excavator Operator. All trainees were successfully completed with certification recognized by the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC).

The event was inaugurated by Shri O. R. Kelu, Hon’ble Minister of the Welfare of Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and Backward Classes, who addressed the gathering. As the department celebrates its 50th anniversary, the minister provided an in-depth explanation of the various welfare schemes being implemented for SC/ST communities.

He emphasized that the government is committed to supporting students in choosing their field of study and career paths based on their interests. He further highlighted that multiple schemes are in place to help qualified candidates secure employment, including opportunities abroad. These efforts will continue in the coming years, he added.

The minister reminded the students that receiving the certificate marks only the beginning of their journey, encouraging them to move forward with perseverance and hard work.

Shri. Rajeevan K, President of Neendakara Panchayat, presided over the function. Dr. P. Sashikumar, KAS, Assistant Director of the SC Development Department, detailed the various schemes implemented by the department. Prof. Dr. B. Sunilkumar, Director of IIIC, delivered the welcome address and Mr. Raghavan K, Deputy Director of IIIC, offered his greetings and addressed the gathering.
