IIIC Awareness Seminar – Phase I

A panchayat level awareness seminar was organized at the Indian Institute of Infrastructure and Construction under the Labour Department on 2-July-2019. The objective was to provide a detailed insight about the Indian Institute of Infrastructure and Construction, various courses offered by the Institute and the job prospects after completing the courses to the people of 69 panchayats in the Kollam district. Members of Panmana, Thekkumbhagam, Kotankara Panchayath Governing Council and Kudumbasree members participated in the seminar. IIIC Director Dr. Chitra Prasad welcomed the gathering. Panmana Panchayat President Smt.Salini and Kotankara Panchayat President Smt. Vineetha Kumari graced the occasion. Shri K. Raghavan, Director, UL Education Administration, spoke on IIIC and on the issue of Unemployment and Solution through IIIC. Commander Vinod Shankar explained the current courses at IIIC and the companies that are ready to offer placement to students successfully completing the course. All participating members were taken around to show the state of the art infrastructure and facilities available at IIIC. IIIC Director Dr. Chitra Prasad also informed that more such seminars will be held for other panchayats in the district in the coming days.
