German National Railway Company Deutsche Bahn Delegation Visits IIIC

A high-level delegation from Deutsche Bahn (DB), the German National Railway Company headquartered in Berlin, Germany, visited the Indian Institute of Infrastructure and Construction (IIIC) as part of its ongoing efforts to explore skilled workforce development and international collaboration. The delegation comprised thirteen senior representatives from Deutsche Bahn, its subsidiary companies, suppliers, and project partners.

The delegation was received at IIIC by Mr. Sufiyan Ahmed, IAS, Managing Director, Kerala Academy for Skills Excellence (KASE); Prof. Dr. B. Sunil Kumar, Director, IIIC; Prof. Dr. Jomy Thomas, Dean (Academics), IIIC; Prof. Dr. Ashfaq, Dean (Student Affairs), IIIC; Mr. George Antony Constantine, Head – Admissions & Placement, IIIC; and Mr. Malin S., Project Director, KASE.

Deutsche Bahn is wholly owned by the Federal Government of Germany and is one of the world’s leading railway companies.The company employs nearly 300,000 people across the globe.Deutsche Bahn is expected to recruit around 22,000 skilled professionals.

As part of the proposed collaboration, IIIC plans to establish a 150-metre German railway track model on its campus to provide practical, industry-oriented training. The collaboration is expected to generate substantial employment opportunities for Civil, Mechanical, Electrical and Safety Engineers, Electricians, Plumbers, Excavator Operators, Quality Technicians, BIM professionals, and several other skilled technical personnel.

The proposed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Deutsche Bahn and IIIC is expected to open new pathways for IIIC trainees to receive world-class training and secure rewarding career opportunities in Germany with competitive salaries.
