Minister made this statement while inaugurating PLACEX ’19, The Industry-Institute Interface, and Prospects ’19, the certificate and placement offer distribution ceremony held at Indian Institute of Infrastructure and Construction, Chavara, Kollam on 30th May 2019. The institute facilitated job opportunities for the entire batch of passing-out students. This institution is offering Technician, Supervisory and Managerial courses and offers placement opportunities. Sri. N. Vijayan Pillai, MLA presided over the function. Dr. Asha Thomas IAS, Additional Chief Secretary, Govt of Kerala, Chairman ULCCS Shri. RameshanPalery, Director UL Education Dr.T.P.Sethumadhavan, and Director of IIIC Dr. D .Chitraprasad offered felicitations. Nearly 100 representatives from various Indian Industries attended the PlaceX ‘19 function. While delivering the keynote address Dr.Mona Shah, Dean of the RICS School of Built Environment suggested that skilling is not for dropouts, but for livelihood. While delivering the opening remarks, Dr. T.P. Sethumadhavan, Director of UL Education stated that IIIC is trying to reduce the skill gap and reduce the employability of educated youths. Papers were presented by experts at different sessions on skilling opportunities in Construction and Infrastructure, Facility Management, Data Center Engineering, IT and IT Enabled Services, Customised training programs, Logistics and Services.
