Internship program in Building Information Modeling

Internship program in Building Information Modeling (BIM) offers an immersive experience into the realm of BIM and project management. This program designed to provide students with hands-on training in real world projects. It transcends basic introductions, offering practical insights into the diverse applications of BIM in architecture, engineering, and construction (AEC) industries. In addition to comprehensive training sessions, this internship also includes industry-oriented site visits to large-scale projects.

Learning Objectives

  • Introduce students to fundamental BIM concepts, components, and software
  • Teach principles and techniques of BIM modeling, coordination, and visualization.
  • Provide hands-on training in Revit
  • Explore advanced BIM applications through case studies and interactive sessions
  • Facilitate collaborative projects allowing students to apply BIM knowledge in practical contexts

Learning Outcomes

  • Gain practical experience with leading BIM software such as Revit
  • Perform basic and intermediate tasks including family creation, and project coordination.
  • Design and create comprehensive BIM models
  • Complete a real-world BIM project from conception to execution

Eligibility

  • KTU Students from 3rd to 8th Semester (B.Tech CE) and fresh graduates from B.Arch/B.Tech/M.Tech.
  • Basic understanding of BIM concepts is recommended but not mandatory
  • Enthusiasm for learning and applying BIM in AEC industries is essential
