The internship for technician students from the Indian Institute of Infrastructure and Construction (IIIC) has been scheduled at ULCCS from 24 January 2022 for a period of 30 days. The students attending internship are from the domains Assistant Survey, Construction Laboratory & Field Technician, Assistant Electrician and Plumbing General. Considering the internship, a prior safety orientation class was scheduled on 13 January 2022, which was conducted through online mode and delivered by the ULCCS staff. The safety orientation class started at around 11 AM on 13 January and was extended up to 12:30 PM. The orientation session was started with the introductory portion which was delivered by Dr Arun C Emmanuel of ULCCS. After the introduction session, EHS Wing Head Mr. Eshwara Murthy addressed students regarding the safety at the construction site. The session was followed by Mr Rajeesh P of the EHS wing, who shared a PPT explaining the do's and don'ts to be followed by the students on the construction site. Prof. Harees Mon gave a brief talk about what are the necessary things and care that one has to follow on the construction sites such as one should look at the floor and walk, the trainees must avoid usage of mobile phones on the construction site and be aware that an emergency or any sort of accidents is only a step away on the construction sites.
