Skill development programmes must orient towards common man, Says CMD of Cochin Shipyard Sri. Madhu S Nair. CMD made this statement while inaugurating the National skill workshop- Placex 2018 at Recca Club, Kakkanad, Kochi on 18 December. At a time when service sector supersedes all other sectors, Manufacturing sector is also on revival path. Infrastructure and Construction sectors require appropriate Skilling including finishing. Skilling opportunities may not be limited to engineering graduates only. National skill workshop was organised by Indian Institute of infrastructure and Construction (IIIC). IIIC is a joint venture of Kerala academy for skills excellence(KASE) and 93-year-old Co-operative ULCCS. ULCCS and IIIC Chairman Sri. Rameshan Paleri during the presidential address suggested that IIIC will launch courses which can improve the employability of students including courses related to data science, analytics, blockchain technology, etc. Dr. T.P.
